Sonic Cameras?
I was looking to buy a nice digital SLR camera (my first) to take with me on my vacation in Europe/Northern Africa.
I was looking into a D60 with an 18-200mm lens (this way I never have to change the lens).
I found this site called Sonic Cameras: http://www.soniccameras.com and was wondering if any of you have ever heard of / used this website?
If so, how would you rate your experience? Are they trustworthy? Etc…
NO!! STAY AWAY! DON’T DO IT! YOU’LL REGRET IT!
I have already answered this question at length. No doubt about it, these guys are scammers, operating their scam business under about 20 different names.
In short, you’ll place your order for the low-priced item, they’ll make you call to “confirm your order,” then they try to sell you “upgrades” which are actually manufacturer-standard items supposed to be included in the package, but for a total price greater than the price at dealers such as B&H. If you refuse the “upgrades,” all of a sudden, your camera will be “out of stock” and your order canceled by the rude, pushy, abusive salesman. But guess what? Even though your order has been canceled, they still have your credit-card number from when you originally placed the order; and we all know what people can do with a credit-card number. Nice folks, huh?

Go to B&H instead. They are certainly trustworthy, and they tend to have among the best prices around, among reputable dealers.
