Do airport security allow digital camera with battery as hand baggage?
In India I have to do a short trip where I will only be carrying my camera bag with 2 SLR bodies both having the lithium batteries.
Do the security check staff allow now day to carry the camera with batteries included or not since I will not be having any baggage so I cant take the batteries out & keep it in.
Is photography allowed on board aircraft?
In past whenever I traveled the regular practice was to keep the batteries in the checked in baggage, but this tie I wont have any baggage.
Thanks for the answers but I remember that last year sometime there was a notification from the Govt of India taking away the ban on in flight use of camera & in the airports but note sure about the carrying the battery.
Flights coming to India from international destination don’t have such ban, they allow to carry the camera now days with battery.
PLEASE DO CARRY YOUR CAMERA WITH YOU ON BOARD AT ALL COST. Every DAY, passengers lost valuables like cameras, laptops and other kinds of electronic devices to airport staffs (usually to baggage handlers).
There should not be any issues on your digital camera (though SOME airline securities may kick a fuss out of it, but on general terms, its usually fine to carry them on board, but you should bear in mind on the sensitivity of using electronic devices while taking off and landing).
Hope this helps and good luck!
