I know the Nikon D80 is an older camera but…?
I have the chance to buy a used Nikon D80 for a fairly good price and it includes a bag, extra batteries and the cables, but how does it compare to the newer cameras out there, particularly the Rebel Series from Canon? I have been using a Canon point and shoot for a couple of years and I feel its time to spread my proverbial photo taking wings and upgrade to a DSLR. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I can get the whole package, including the bag, extra batteries, charger the camera and a standard lens for $600, Canadian. So I guess I wonder if my 600 would be better spent or if the d80 is a good investment as far as DSLR’s
It is far superior to a canon rebel. It’s canon counterpart is the 30D. In shoot with one and it is more than capable at handling what I throw at it. The newer D90 though shoots better at ISO’s over 800, has a better version of software in it, and has HD video but other than that the D80 is a fully capable camera and shoots great shots
