What Lenses Work On A Minolta SRT 101?
IS there a specific list of lenses that will fit onto a MINOLTA SRT 101? Or maybe lenses that work with specific converters? ITS A MINOLTA SRT 101 35MM FILM CAMERA.
Please Help?

A word of caution. ACE has given some excellent links to resources for Minolta lenses. However, the name Rokkor has NO SPECIFIC RELATIONSHIP to the SRT line of camera models. Rokkor is the designation Minolta used to identify any lens manufactured by Minolta (They originally built cameras that used lenses manufactured by other German and Japanese companies). This type of designation was, and still is, a common practice in the optical industry, Minolta used Rokkor, Nikon uses Nikor, Pentax uses Takumar, Olympus uses Zuiko, etc. to identify the lenses they manufactured regardless of the camera brand.
In addition, there were many third party lens manufacturers who made lenses to fit the SRT101 and its cousins. Soligor, Tamron and Vivitar were some of the leading brands in the late 60’s through the 70’s which was the heyday of the SRT line of cameras. What you need to look for are lenses with the SR mount (also often called SRT). Most lenses whether made by Minolta or a third party designed for the SRT models had an MC designation, which meant Meter Coupled, engraved on the lens to identify them as fully compatible with all the SRT models. The MD and X designations were used by Minolta for later models in their line of products that maintained backward compatibility to the SRT cameras.
Also, the Celtic line of lenses were manufactured by or under the control of Minolta as a less expensive group of lenses that met Minolta’s quality standards.
Minolta also manufactured Rokkor lenses under license to Leica for the Minolta CLE camera which uses the Leica bayonet mount. These were also made to fit Leica rangefinder cameras. These lenses WILL NOT FIT the SRT models and often command a substantially higher price than comparable lenses from other manufacturers.
MOST lenses prior to those for the SRT, but designed for the SR mount will function with the SRT models but will be more difficult to operate because they will not take advantage of the Meter Coupling function and may have some operational limitations as well.
