Help in buying a digital camera for my son’s bday???
My son’s 19th birthday is in a couple weeks and I want to surprise him with a digital camera. Problem is I know little to nothing about them. I read reviews but those can only tell you so much plus I heard that companies hire people to put positive reviews on a website.
Could anyone who knows about digital camera’s nudge me in the right direction?
I understand what megapixels are but is it a big difference for lets say 6.0 compared to 9.0?
Any info would be GREATLY appreciated.

Are you interested in a small camera like a Canon PowerShot SD1000 or a big camera like a Canon or Nikon digital SLR? The price difference is $150 up to $500 and more…
The two biggest differences are the Digital SLRs can change lenses and have little to no shutter lag – and lots of manual control. The little cameras are pretty much all automatic and have shutter lag (which can result in missng a shot (1/3 secind is a LONG time).
