COMPARE DIGITAL CAMERAS VIVITAR
What is the best digital camera to buy on a budget of 250??

I am looking to buy a digital camera, but everything I have tried doesn’t even compare to my old Vivitar 400 6MP, that I bought 3 yrs ago. I was very happy with the sharp pics I was getting but it broke, so I tried the Kodak v1003 10MP, I quickly returned it, was such poor quality, then I tried the sony dsc-w80 7MP, it way better than the Kodak, but not as great my old Vivitar.

Anyone know of a good digital that takes sharp pics, and is not too expensive?
I think I’m going to go for the Canon PowerShot, thanks for your help!

Your Vivator 4000 (not 400! You sent me on a wild goose chase.) had a nice big sensor (1/1.8″). Most compact digital cameras today save money by using a cheap, tiny sensor (1/2.5″). What you need to do is buy a digital camera with a big sensor. Follow the link and you could just buy a new one for less than $200. I’ve been happy with the Fujifilm Finepix F10, which has a 1/1.7″ sensor, which is slightly larger than the one your Vivator had. They’re very comparable cameras because they both have 6 megapixels and both use a lithium ion battery. The F10 does not have a fully manual mode, but it’s only $120 if you get a good deal.
