Is there any Sony Alpha camera that compares with the Nikon D90?
I want to make the jump to digital from 35mm. I like the D90 best so far. The only problem is the price of the D90 with lenses. The Alpha also has one advantage for me: I already own two lenses (so I will only need to buy the body to begin using it). They are Minolta AF (Minolta A-mount? – currently on a Minolta Maxxum 450si). I am told that they work on Sony’s Alpha cameras. All my previous SLRs have been Minoltas and I love them, so when I was told that Sony bought and uses Minolta’s technology, that was a huge plus in my opinion. Is it true that Sony bought Minolta? Is their quality as good as their reputation? Or is the D90 the best balance between price and features for a first-time DSLR (but not first-time SLR) owner?

See what you can find.
If you really want a Nikon D90, you may just have to sell the old A-mount lenses and start building your new system
