choosing a camera?
I am into digital photography. I usually take pictures of flowers, leaves, plants and things like that. I also take some pictures of animals and people. Basically, I take very close-up pictures of things that have a lot of detail. Occasionally I take pictures of things far away. I have a 12 MP Kodak digital camera, but I think I need something better. I was wondering what is the best kind of camera for me? I need AT LEAST, but not limited to, 12 MP and I am willing to spend $500-$600. I dont care what brand it is, I just need a good quality camera that can take great pictures. And if they can be found at Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco or another big electronics store that would be great. Thanks!
A Nikon D40 is only 6mp, but an SLRs 6mp is much better than a point and shoot’s 12 mp.
I would suggest the Nikon D40, paired with a 55-200mm VR lens. For the closeup/macro shooting, add some “close-up” filters, which aren’t too expensive. If you don’t get the standard 18-55mm lens, you should be able to keep the price under $600.
Perhaps one of the hardest things to do is light up objects that are fairly close to the end of the lens. You may need to make a home-made reflector to channel the light to the subject (people use tin foil rolled into a tube from the pop-up flash).
