I want to get action horse jumping pictures is there a good digital non slr under £500 that could do the job?
I like the reviews on the canon 550d but with lenses it gets expensive maybe there is a really good digital bridge type camera to catch action pictures of my daughter jumping her horse
Buy a used dSLR. Do you really need a new camera? Of course you’re concerned that you’re buying someone elses junk or mistake, so I’d suggest you find a local camera store that sells used gear and has a decent return policy.
Most any point and shoot or bridge camera will cost you about as much, yet you won’t get much of a benefit for what you’re wanting to do. The Canon SX30IS for example shoots at a blazing 1.3 images per second. So in 3 seconds you can squeeze off 4 shots. That’s not that fast for horse jumping. The 550D on the other hand is 3 frames per second. In 3 seconds it would record 9 shots. In my opinion that’s pretty close to what you want. Going above that, while being really cool, probably wouldn’t be that huge of a benefit as you’d just have more shots of the same scene. Most used dSLRs will have at least 3fps, many will have more.
