Going to Afghanistan! Need Durable Camera please!?
Hi as the title says I am heading over to Afghanistan in 2-3 months and will be doing mainly route clearance. Possibly a majority of the time at night from what I hear. Alright I am looking for a good rugged camera so that I can get lots of cool pics so that I can have the memorabilia. I am just worried that the camera I buy is not going to make it the full term. I need it to be shock proof for sure dust/sand proof would be awesome, waterproof/freeze proof would be nice but not all that necessary. The last most important thing is that it would be nice if it can take pics at night like with infrared or night vision or something. One of my ex-sergeants had a camera once that I saw when we were blowing up some demo at night on a range and through his digital camera he was able to get a good video of it at night. The video was all green like it was night vision or something, I would love to have those capabilities. Thanks for looking and please help!
I’d say just go to JB or one of the many electrical stores around and ask them what they would suggest as they will have experts there.
