I need help selling a camera on eBay?
Okay, the camera works, it takes pictures, it comes with everything including the Kodack Easyshare camera dock 6000, the USB wire, the 64 MB memory card, and the main wire that runs into the wall. The camera is a KODAK EASYSHARE CX6330 ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA and has a retail of $160 when I bought it. The only problem with the camera is that it tends to not charge the battery, which might be a problem with the battery, and also, the little piece that holds the battery in doesn’t hold it in very well, which can all be fixed. So, the question is, does anyone have any suggestions on a fair starting bid price for this camera?
Number one, be honest about the condition of the camera, do not hold anything back. Explain in detail, like you just did.
I would start the bidding at a reasonable price of about 1/4 the cost, or $40. I f you want a reserve price, you can say so and not sell unless that reserve price is met.
Many people might want the camera for other reasons. Maybe the body is cracked or they need the lens or the mainboard inside. Batteries are also replaceable. Just because it doesn’t hold a charge doesn’t make it worthless. To someone else who can’t find parts to fix their camera, your camera is worth as much as the world will pay for it!
But, the real way everyone on Ebay rips all of us off is in “shipping and handling”. If you charge another $30 or $40 to mail a $4.00 package (post office already offers minimum insurance, extra is not much more).
I refuse to buy ANYTHING from Ebay simply because I changed my email address and they wanted a credit card number for ID. Excuse me? No where in the terms of my credit card agreement does it say I am not responsible for fraudulent charges when using my credit card as “ID”. I am only protected WHEN I MAKE A PURCHASE!!! So, apparenty, I could give Ebay my credit card number as ID, that info could be stolen, and I could be held accountable for thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges, simply because I gave this number to Ebay? I don’t think so!!!
Ebay will never get my credit card number nor my business again.
And if everyone was smart, they would stop doing business with Ebay until they stop asking for credit card info that could be stolen. Ebay doesn’t process payments…most of them are done by second parties, such as “pay pal”
Never give out credit card info to ANYONE who is not charging your card for a purchase. Why not just give it to a bum in the street? Don’t forget expiration date and the CVV of the back!!! Better yet, just give them your card forever!
