Digital SLR advice please help?
I want to get an slr camera, like a starter one. I can get a big discount on products from sony but my friends say their bad. I saw some pictures online taken by the camera i want. For me the biggest advantage Sony offers is its in-camera image stabilization. This means every lens used will have that advantage. Nikon and Canon offer lenses with image stabilization but you have to pay extra for it with each lens.
Don’t be mislead by people who claim that there are only a few lenses available for the A200. Sony has 26 in their catalog plus the Carl Zeiss “ZA” line plus you can use every legacy Minolta Maxxum AF lens made since 1985. And every one of them will have the benefit of the in-camera image stabilization.
If your budget allows, you might want to look at the Sony A300. It features Live View which actually works with the AF so if you’re in a crowd and need to hold the camera over your head to get a picture just flip the screen down, compose and shoot.
