Will these lenses work on my camera?
I have a Minolta Maxxum 5000 AF camera. The lenses in question are Minolta Rokkor-X 50mm, Minolta MD 28mm, Minolta Rokkor-X 135mm, Vivitar 75-205mm Macro Zoom & Vivitar Close-up Lens Kit. I want to buy these at a garage sale and I was hoping if anyone can tell me if these will work. The owner does not know but he knows they fit all Minolta SRT Cameras
They will not mount.
Minolta changed the mount of their lenses when they changed from MF to AF.
On minolta AF lenses the aperture is controlled via the body, so thats another problem.
Minolta did make a convertor to allow SR, MC & MD users to use their lenses on AF bodies, but only with manual operation and with a teleconversion factor. These adaptors were expensive new and hard to find now, although there are cheap versions available online.
All in all, best avoided.
