ULTRA COMPACT DIGITAL CAMERAS COMPARE

ULTRA COMPACT DIGITAL CAMERAS COMPARE
As of Sept. 2007, what are some of the best digital cameras, that are sleek and slim, and point and shoot?

I’m looking into buying a new camera. I want a slim, ultra compact, point and shoot version. I’ll probably end up spending $200-$400. Something 6-7 megapixels or more. Mainly for taking shots of taking shots. With some usage for taking landscapes and such.

I used to have one of the first ultra compact Sony Cybershot cameras, but it was lost to an ex-girlfriend. I like that type of size and style.

So the current plan is to get away for awhile. I’m planning a trip out to Frisco with a friend. We’re gonna be there a for a week. Then we take the PCH down to LA making stops along this scenic route. I want the camera I buy to be able to really capture the scenery, but to also just be a point and shooter at the bar or hanging out. Something for really nice candid shots to really nice posing portrait shots.

Any ideas? Recommendations? Is the new Cybershot DSC-T100 any good? Any other cameras that compare to it?

Since you are computer literate, you may want to do your own research at dpreview dot com.

Avoid cameras that do not use SD memory cards and use AA batteries (the temptation is to think that in a pinch you can use standard AA’s … They are very short lived.).

SD memory cards are the most common and Li-ion batteries last the longest in supplying power and have the longest life cycle
